“Renaissance of Grace” is the beautiful solo debut from Hawaiian new age/gypsy artist Aurora Juliana Ariel. Centered around the exotic, sensual, and worldly vocals of Ariel, and with the help of multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist Bruce BecVar, this album delivers nine solid new age songs that fans of the genre and new age newcomers alike can thoroughly enjoy. The musical arrangements are led by stunningly and skillfully styled fingerpicking acoustic guitar work, though they incorporate a number of exotic and worldly instruments, such as the flute, violin, and percussive instruments, as well as light ambience, to perfectly accompany Ariel and BecVar’s stellar vocal performances. The songs are mystical, transcendent, and uplifting, and take you to a happy place. “Renaissance of Grace” is well-recorded with a great balance of vocals and arrangements, and has a great sound for wine tastings or relaxation. “Breathless Wind” is a slow-paced track with some flute work, an excellent fingerpicking guitar arrangement, and great vocal harmony between Ariel and BecVar. “Under a Shiva Moon” has a solid arrangement with nicely layered rhythm and lead guitars, a nice beat, and immaculate dueling and harmonic vocals between Ariel and BecVar. “Renaissance of Grace” is truly an incredible debut from Aurora Juliana Ariel with something to offer not only new age and world music fans, but also music fans in general. -Chris & the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team

Notes on the Album

On the island of Maui, songs began flowing forth in a beautiful language that I’ve come to believe is a Universal Expression of Love. Night & day they flowed forth, each with a unique melody. I could sing for hours & then when I would stop, the songs would continue on in my mind sometimes waking me at night.

It all began in 1997 around Valentine’s Day on a visit with Bruce BecVar who remains a close friend to this day. Our hearts opened to Love, transporting us without warning into that rare & much sought after Beloved Relationship. In that moment, we entered a transcendent world of beauty, light & color. It was a Renaissance of Grace, which continued day after day without end.

Two months later, we performed at a Healing Conference on the island of Crete. Then, on the Island of Santorini, as a comet graced the night sky under the New Moon, Bruce began playing an inspired song on his guitar. Immediately my heart leapt! I knew this song! I began singing & Bruce joined me. Love’s Eternal Flame was the first song that came through both of us, launching an inspired creative synergy over the next years with performances in Hawaii, Colorado, & Sedona.

Shanti Aloha, a beautiful villa on Maui became our home. In our recording studio there, we began recording the songs. Bruce would receive an inspiration & lay down guitar tracks. I would come in & the vocals would pour forth. Most of the songs came in this way. Instead of us composing, then recording, they were coming in as we recorded. Amazed, Bruce said, “The songs are coming in with the same exact syllables in each track. This is definitely a language!”

My every session in the studio was a spectacular experience, with a very special presence. One time as I sang the walls disappeared & I became a vast, loving, Feminine Presence cradling the world in her arms. When I recorded Love’s Sacred Fire, I was transported to an altar in a huge celestial cathedral. I felt it was a prayer for humanity & the world. Many say these songs have a healing presence, inspiring universal principles & new archetypes so needed at this time. To me, they are a gift from the Heavens.
